Wayward Son: Rainbow Rowell

The story is supposed to be over.

Simon Snow did everything he was supposed to do. He beat the villain. He won the war. He even fell in love. Now comes the good part, right? Now comes the happily ever after…

So why can’t Simon Snow get off the couch?

What he needs, according to his best friend, is a change of scenery. He just needs to see himself in a new light…

That’s how Simon and Penny and Baz end up in a vintage convertible, tearing across the American West.

They find trouble, of course. (Dragons, vampires, skunk-headed things with shotguns.) And they get lost. They get so lost, they start to wonder whether they ever knew where they were headed in the first place…

With Wayward Son, Rainbow Rowell has written a book for everyone who ever wondered what happened to the Chosen One after he saved the day. And a book for everyone who was ever more curious about the second kiss than the first. It’s another helping of sour cherry scones with an absolutely decadent amount of butter.

Come on, Simon Snow. Your hero’s journey might be over – but your life has just begun.
(Goodreads)

Here's a link to my review of -----> Carry On

Anyway, if you read my review, you'll notice that I had a lot to say about Carry On. And yet I decided to read Wayward Son hoping thinking it would be better..... It was... And it wasn't at the same time.
So pros: the story was definitely more original. I liked the idea of after. We seldom get a story after the hero kills/destroys the big bad. So I liked that premise. Since she couldn't get inspiration from Harry Potter like in Carry On, she had to come up with her own original story, and it was decent. College students want to go on vacation, and nothing goes right. So relatable.
Now the cons: honestly, it took too long to get to the point. It was still slow and boring; I get that it was showing how everyone is basically depressed. Like Simon? He's so depressed because everything he knew and loved has been ruined. He doesn't know who he is anymore, he's lost his identity, and he's struggling in his relationship with Baz. It's plain ol', not a good time, yo. And honestly, kind of a mood Penny is just as annoying as ever. Sucks that her boyfriend broke up with her when she went to visit him... And I totally see his point of view since I've literally seen this happen in person many times. Shepard? A regular human appears knows a bunch of stuff, and that's it... He doesn't really do anything.

The story was random, and I feel like if it had a bit more structure, it might have been better. The weird twist of the vampires wanting magic gave it a bit of spice. That was actually interesting, and I wanted more on that, but we didn't anymore in this book specifically.

Anyways, until next time readers <3

A Heart so Fierce and Broken: Brigid Kemmerer

Find the heir, win the crown.

The curse is finally broken, but Prince Rhen of Emberfall faces darker troubles still. Rumors circulate that he is not the true heir and that forbidden magic has been unleashed in Emberfall. Although Rhen has Harper by his side, his guardsman Grey is missing, leaving more questions than answers.

Win the crown, save the kingdom.

Rumored to be the heir, Grey has been on the run since he destroyed Lilith. He has no desire to challenge Rhen--until Karis Luran once again threatens to take Emberfall by force. Her own daughter Lia Mara sees the flaws in her mother’s violent plan, but can she convince Grey to stand against Rhen, even for the good of Emberfall?

The heart-pounding, compulsively readable saga continues as loyalties are tested and new love blooms in a kingdom on the brink of war.
(Goodreads)

"You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

Lets just say that this quote is a wonderful representation of Rhen. But I shouldn't get ahead of myself since Rhen really isn't all that important in this book.  It's more like the idea of him that is important? I guess? The question of what kind of ruler he'll be... Anyways...
This book is all about Grey, and a new character Lia Mara why two names?? I don't know but her sister and mom have a two name thing going on too Now I fully admit, I didn't like Lia Mara very much in the beginning, I truly didn't care for her part of the story until she got to the palace. And boy does it get better.
Just like the first book, I totally struggled with the beginning. The pacing felt a little off but then everything changed when Rhen's guards killed an innocent man accused of magic. All on a man hunt for the magesmith, the true heir, who just so happens to be GREY. He's been hinting at this terrible secret he's been keeping to help protect Rhen and the reason why he ran away from the castle. Because it obviously had to happen, Grey get caught when he decided to be an awesome dude and sub for the actual fighter. The royal guard recognized his fighting style and called him. It was all very tragic.
Anyway he ends up back at the castle beaten and bloody to kneel before Rhen and it's this emotional affair. Did I forget to mention that Grey likes Harper? Because Grey likes Harper and I totally ship it now but only for like a second We all remember Rhen being this amazing prince, he's different and would never stoop to torture considering he suffered torture at the hands of evil enchantress for decades. And yet this rat bastard has the audacity to whip a child to get information out of Grey. He whips them both saying it's for the greater good. To protect them all from magic. And Grey notices that this isn't for the safety of his kingdom but for his fear of what could happen if someone used it against him again.
Meanwhile: remember how I mentioned this new character named Lia Mara... She's really not that important until she escapes from her gilded cage. Quick back story: she's the oldest, mom doesn't like her very much because shes "weak." Chooses her sister to be the queen, she has a plan to marry said baby queen to Rhen to have access to better trade. Didn't happen they leave, Lia Mara has a plan because she saw something different in Rhen, so she runs away to the castle to convince him to change his mind. Doesn't work out, he kills her guard and locks her up. She becomes important when Grey just so happens to be caged in the room next to her, which is connected by a wall in the fireplace that moves. He sees her and is like "okay interesting."
Flash forward again: Lia Mara is free because they underestimated her and Grey absolutely enraged by the whipping of this innocent child somehow unleashes magic and knocks everyone out. Lia Mara appears and helps them escape. And thus the book really starts.

Everything that happens from this point on in the book is what truly made the book incredible. The action, the romance, the character growth. The power struggle. Grey coming to terms with his birthright, becoming a better king than Rhen ever could. It's literally a wild ride.
And it gets crazier when you find out that Rhen has been working with THE EVIL ENCHANTRESS WHO HAD THEM CURSED. WHO TORTURED HIM, AND KILLED ALL HIS FAMILY.
What the hell is Rhen thinking working with evil incarnate.

And now I have to wait for the next book because I finished this book a little too fast.
Until next time readers <3

Carry On: Rainbow Rowell

Simon Snow is the worst Chosen One who's ever been chosen.

That's what his roommate, Baz, says. And Baz might be evil and a vampire and a complete git, but he's probably right.

Half the time, Simon can't even make his wand work, and the other half, he starts something on fire. His mentor's avoiding him, his girlfriend broke up with him, and there's a magic-eating monster running around, wearing Simon's face. Baz would be having a field day with all this, if he were here — it's their last year at the Watford School of Magicks, and Simon's infuriating nemesis didn't even bother to show up.

Carry On - The Rise and Fall of Simon Snow is a ghost story, a love story and a mystery. It has just as much kissing and talking as you'd expect from a Rainbow Rowell story - but far, far more monsters.

(Goodreads)

Okay.... so I finally started this book because a friend encouraged me thinking I'd like it so much more than I did, since it's based on Harry Potter, my absolute favorite book series. I was also interested because I loved Fangirl so much and her love for the series... Anyway lets get this review underway!

First and foremost, this book is obviously based on Harry Potter, not only that, it's FANFICTION FOR DRARRY. Mind you I really don't care for that ship... So this was interesting to read someone who thoroughly enjoys Drarry write about it. Still not my favorite ship.

Second: if you're going to base something on such an amazing book.... don't ruin it with your ridiculous magic style. Let me explain; their magic was based around a system that words hold power. Okay, I get that and it can be a valid form of magic. But then she tried to make it mainstream and relevant to the currant time (which is going to seriously date this book in a few years) by adding popular books, movies, and songs (i.e. 'to be or not to be' 'do or do not there is no try' 'these are not the droids you are looking for' 'don't stop believing' I could go on)…. And it make the book sound so dumb. Here they are in a serious situation spouting YOU KILLED MY FATHER PREPARE TO DIE or something along those lines totally ruining the serious moment. And I know, I know its supposed to spoof Harry Potter... But that doesn't mean I have to enjoy it.

Third, the plot. God the plot was a mess. It all started with the author assuming we know more about the world of Carry On than we actually do. There's too much that has previously happened in "previous" years for us to be able to truly understand the book and connect to the characters 100% . The plot focuses on Simon being the worst chosen one ever I'll get to that in a bit, because I am SALTY. How bad at magic he is, the fucking HUMDRUM the stupidest fucking villains name. In the history of the world. The twists weren't all that exciting, especially if you consider that its like four characters merged into one. And the story was honestly very mediocre.

Fourth: the characters. God the characters were so bad I could cry. When I first read it was I so mad. I was angry how she twisted my favorite characters into these pathetic shadows of the original. Simon Harry Potter is the worst chosen in the history of the world. He also sucks at magic and is a total fucking idiot. That's it, that is the character. Does he get any character growth? No. Does he learn how to use his magic and be the great wizard he's destined to be? No. Does he ever do anything of importance? Also no. God Simon was this sad whiny character that Rowell decided to make the worst of everything. He's literally the total opposite of Harry. Unless he's obsessing over Baz like in The Half Blood Prince and what he's doing, or if he's plotting his murder. All very original. Now Baz, Baz is Draco obviously. The Draco we never got to know because Harry Potter is only in his point of view. Baz had a bit more potential solely because she didn't have anything to casually mess up copy. Baz was more original because she had to fill in the blanks. You could tell that he was based on Draco, but he was still his own original character unlike Simon. Next we have Penelope, Penny...Whatever her name was. She was obviously Hermione, if Hermione was a pureblood. She lived and breathed magic, was the best at it. A total annoying know it all. All things we've seen in Hermione. She was honestly very boring, though a little bit more annoying like Hermione in the first book. Then we have Simons girlfriend.... Whose name I cannot remember for the life of me. Anyway, she was more like Cho Chang, than the amazing spitfire that is Ginny Weasley. She was whiny, was pinning for another guy cough that was Baz's gay ass and utterly useless. Lived in a world of her own and didn't want anything to do with magic. Then we had the weird Goat Lady that was a cheap Hagrid knockoff, if Hagrid liked ghosts and was good at magic instead. And finally, we have the headmaster dude. Who was a mixture of: Dumbledor, James Potter, Sirus Black, Voldemort, and maybe a little bit of Remus if you squint. One of the major plot twists is that good sir, headmaster is actually Simon's dad and he killed Lily his wife in the name of creating the chosen one. He was a total Dumbledor for not telling Harry Simon anything and abandoning him to orphanages fucking orphanages instead of TAKING RESPONSIBILITY OF HIS SPAWN. Anyway this character was a mess and a total psychopath

I basically didn't like this book at all. The final and most important twist was that the HUMDRUM was Simon. That every time he actually performed magic he siphoned said magic from areas that were bursting with magic rip to Baz's family home. And this was all because of Good sir Dumbledor trying to make him the Chosen one.
And that's the end. That is the end to this tragically written fanfiction.
I kind of want to read the next one... but I  also don't. So we'll see what happens
Anyway!

Shadow and Bone: Leigh Bardugo

Surrounded by enemies, the once-great nation of Ravka has been torn in two by the Shadow Fold, a swath of near impenetrable darkness crawling with monsters who feast on human flesh. Now its fate may rest on the shoulders of one lonely refugee.
Alina Starkov has never been good at anything. But when her regiment is attacked on the Fold and her best friend is brutally injured, Alina reveals a dormant power that saves his life—a power that could be the key to setting her war-ravaged country free. Wrenched from everything she knows, Alina is whisked away to the royal court to be trained as a member of the Grisha, the magical elite led by the mysterious Darkling.
Yet nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. With darkness looming and an entire kingdom depending on her untamed power, Alina will have to confront the secrets of the Grisha . . . and the secrets of her heart.

(Goodreads)

So let me begin by saying that I technically started this review THREE years ago.... And I never finished it because I couldn't remember the book as clearly as I wanted to.
So here I am in 2019, rereading all of Bardugo's books because of King of Scars.

Sooo lets get started.
When I first read this way back when, I honestly did not like Mal. Like AT ALL. I found him annoying and bland and just, I was so frustrated with Alina for liking him. When the Darkling was literally RIGHT THERE. Since rereading the book, Mal isn't that bad, he's not perfect. And I like that.
Considering this is Bardugo's first book, it is incredibly well written the way she created this world. The way she describes it, how immersive it is, without being over bearing.
Honestly the book starts off slow, the book has a lot of information to get there so at times it feels a bit dense, but the plot flows so well.
We see Alina grow and honestly face a lot of things in a short amount of time. Everything regarding the Darkling is just so perfectly execute. It doesn't seem fake, it's realistically done.
And Bardugo just has a way of writing that truly captures the audience with her dark and amazing characters.
Honestly this "review" is a mess... But I'm trying
Anyways!

Shatter Me: Tahereh Mafi

I have a curse
I have a gift
I am a monster
I'm more than human
My touch is lethal
My touch is power
I am their weapon
I will fight back
Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
(Goodreads)

I'll have you know that I honestly didn't want to read this book, until my dear friend Rachael finally forced me. And it was absolutely incredible. This book has a more unique writing style and it works. We see everything from Juliette's point of view, in opposite ways. Juliette is severely depressed and Mafi does and excellent job of showing it in such a realistic way. This book had me crying at the emotions that Juliette was feeling, just the way she described it was just so raw and powerful. Her writing was like reading poetry at times. It just flowed so well and so beautifully that it hurt. It honestly hurt my heart to read some of the passages by the raw intensity of the emotions on the page.
Juliette and Adam's relationship was like a car crash waiting to happen. It was fast, it was reckless. And something is bound to happen.
Warner is a bastard... But an interesting bastard. And honestly I want to know more about him.
As I said before the writing is beautiful, though at times distracting especially when I was getting sick of all the repetitiveness.
But honestly this book was very interesting, it was beautiful and I will be starting the next one ASAP.

Until next time readers <3

Between the Lines: Jodi Picoult & Samantha Van Leer

Delilah is a bit of a loner who prefers spending her time in the school library with her head in a book—one book in particular. Between the Lines may be a fairy tale, but it feels real. Prince Oliver is brave, adventurous, and loving. He really speaks to Delilah.
And then one day Oliver actually speaks to her. Turns out, Oliver is more than a one-dimensional storybook prince. He’s a restless teen who feels trapped by his literary existence and hates that his entire life is predetermined. He’s sure there’s more for him out there in the real world, and Delilah might just be his key to freedom.
A romantic and charming story, this companion novel to Off the Page will make every reader believe in the fantastical power of fairy tales.

(Goodreads)

I loved this book even though it took me forever to read becasue I kept getting distracted. I found this such a unique story! The concept of the book being a sort of play and the characters are the actors? Absolutely wonderful, made me think that maybe the book characters in certain books aren't suffering nearly as much I'm looking at you A Court of Mist and Fury.. And Empire of Storms, literally killed me. I've only read one book that was similar to this and that was the Vampire Stalker by Allison Van Diepen, and the characters just leave the book..
Anyways I found this book so flipping cute!! Maybe William Herondale will come for me! Please? Book boyfriend come to life? Oliver was just so fun with his will to live a life outside of their "script." His love for Delilah was just so cute and adorable.
Seriously my favorite part of Between the Lines was Oliver's desire to leave the book be with Delilah. And every time it didn't work out it just made me cheer them on more!
I really did like the story line, it was just so sweet how many times have I said that now? and adorable.
I think the only problem I had with this book was the ending because Oliver obviously made it out I mean come on, it has to have a happily ever after they kiss and that's the end... But! I found out today that there is actually a companion novel! So yay! :D
Until next time

(Goodreads)

So I am going to admit that I totally bought this book because of the cover and the book itself. I mean the book is literally black! Like how cool is that?! So I bought it and didn't read it until the second one came out...
Anyways it was actually a pretty good book, it had a pretty interesting plot, and a diverse set of characters. My biggest problem with the book was how slow it was in the beginning.
It's a whole new world with different politics, different social systems. And it was hard to understand, it was kind of complex at times and I felt it drag. But everything changed when they went to go free Mattias which was the start of the action.
The diversity and complexity of the characters is what kept me most interested. All the characters were flawed in one way or another, and instead of just brushing off the flaws, they were all incorporated into the story in a way that didn't seem forced but natural. I love how, even though they all have problems, but they don't let that inhibit them.
Everything gets better, story line wise, with the escape of Mattias. On their way steal a Ravkan prisoner.
Overall I actually really liked the book even though it was pretty slow in the beginning. The story was rich of impossibilities that ended up turned out alright.
Until next time

To all the boys I've loved before: Jenny Han

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister's ex-boyfriend, Josh. As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all.
(Goodreads)

I'd heard a lot about this book saying that it was very good and that it was super cute... Well it wasn't. It was actually really annoying. It could have been worse it wasn't necessarily good, or bad. It was just annoying. Lara Jean was so vain and annoying and everything was about her...

I guess it was a simple read and if you really like teen contemporaries then this would be a fun read.

Teen Idol By: Meg Cabot

High school junior Jenny Greenley is so good at keeping secrets that she's the school newspaper's anonymous advice columnist. She's so good at it that, when hotter-than-hot Hollywood star Luke Striker comes to her small town to research a role, Jenny is the one in charge of keeping his identity under wraps. But Luke doesn't make it easy, and soon everyone—the town, the paparazzi, and the tabloids alike—know his secret...and Jenny is caught right in the middle of all the chaos.
(Goodreads)

I actually really liked it. I just found it in the library, while looking for new books to read and just thought, "what the heck, might as well." It was fun, and a very fast, simple read.  I really enjoyed it and the ending was different to what I thought, and I loved it. The main character Jenny Greenly was pretty likeable. Obviously annoying at times, when she wouldn't do anything against the bullying to the girlie that I absolutely can't remember her name... She would always check on her afterwards, and yes that great and all but, as Luke said she has power. Which, at first I didn't believe and still think is very unlikely, but was quite awesome. And it was so simple, she just had to (wo)man up and start doing the right thing. Just like Luke said. Now, on the subject of Luke, I absolutely for the life of me, thought that he would start liking Jenny, and I was absolutely wrong! Like most cliques, she would have ended up with the guy, fix the school, get the cabbage baby back, and life would be amazing. Wrong! Jenny ended up with Scott who was absolutely perfect for each other :D and I was too oblivious to notice anything going on between them... Anyways I really enjoyed the book
Later ^^

Stirring Up Trouble: Juli Alexander

What’s worse than lusting after my best friend’s on again off again boyfriend? How about my dad dating his mother, and my mom redesigning his bedroom for her show? With fate interfering so cruelly, can you really blame me for putting my magic potions to not-so-good use?

I’m Zoe Miller, a fifteen-year-old witch with only one power-—a talent for potions. I have my life all mapped out. I plan to be a doctor and develop drugs to cure disease. We already have potions to help all kinds of symptoms, but none of them will get by the Food and Drug Administration. I mean, the government bureaucrats are not going to okay the ingestion of bat wings or unicorn horns. Luckily, fat-free margarine has already been found to be an adequate substitute for dead man’s toe. So, I really hold out hope that I can make things work. Looking for edible substitutions to use in the potions is my passion.

(Goodreads)

I remember reading it a while back (June 17 2012 to be exact)  and I thought that it was super good, and very interesting, but the second time around... Meh. It could have been a lot better, and at times it was childish. I know that she's, like, 15 and all. But I mean come on! It was ridiculous at times, I mean she wouldn't stand up for her self when it came to her friend (that was not a good friend, she was absolutely horrible) she just kept making up excuses as to why she couldn't stand up to her.

Chain Reaction By: Simone Elkeles

The final book to the Perfect Chemistry novels... It was perfect. This one is about the last son Luis, the final Fuentes... Anyways, the book starts off with the wedding of Alex to Brittany (I died from happiness) and Luis is 15. The love interest is Nikki Cruz, a Latina girl that denies her Mexican heritage (this made me sad... I mean come on. Embrace your heritage). They hit it of... By Nikki kneeing Luis in the balls. Perfect... It then flashes two years in the future, Luis is now 17 and is living in Chicago again. Luis Fuentes is the good boy in the family, not expected to do anything stupid, he has hopes and dreams, everything is good for the youngest Fuentes. Now Nikki is very bitter, she at 15 got pregnant with your boyfriends child, whom broke up with her making her bitter, then to top it all off, looses the baby. So she's bitter and really mean... And she is Luis's love interest. Now that Luis is back very thing is going smoothly, the Latino Blood is gone because the  main guy, Chuy is in jail because of Alex. But Luis being an idiot, ends up joining the Blood stuff happens, and turns out his REAL dad was Hector Martinez!! That was a huge shock... Anyways, everything turns out ok in the end.  :3
I loved this book!! It was the perfect ending to all the Perfect Chemistry novels, and this one was a bit of a shock at the end, but absolutely perfect. Why must the Fuentes boys be so sexy !!! :'(   So this one was just amazing, Luis was just so loveable and cute, as it said in the books with was the more "innocent" one... Not really... ;)  Nikki on the other hand really REALLY annoyed me. I understand that she got pregnant at 15, lost the baby and her boyfriend on the same day, but she took her bitterness way too far. I mean she was waiting for her friend to break up with her boyfriend saying "All boys are the same... Boo hoo for me my first and ONLY boyfriend left me pregnant... Then dumped me..." She really truly annoyed me. And how she judged Luis right away, for him being Mexican, living on the poorer side of town, and being friends with some of the gang bangers, sucky... Other than that I loved the series, and this one was the best. It had more background on the Fuentes family, and showed Alex and Brittany as parents, Carlos as a military man getting ready to propose to Kiara. And the epilogue was just perfect, it showed all of them together when they were older, with their own kids. It was just adorable.

One thing I noticed, all the boys had a different thing to call their girl. Alex: mamacita. Carlos: chica. And Luis: Chava. It made me melt.. :D

Rules of Attraction By: Simone Elkeles

Now this one is about Carlos, the middle child. As a kid he always admired Alex, him being in a gang and protecting the family, being a kick-arse... All that awesomeness. So... At the end of Perfect Chemistry, Alex's family moves back to Mexico. And there Carlos gets involved with some gangs... Again!! WHY?!?! Anyways, him Mama found out and shipped him off to Boulder, Colorado, to live with Alex. Carlos is not happy, he gets in trouble and then starts living with a friend of Alex's who helped Alex when he needed the help. Dr. Richard Westford. Of course he has a daughter, Kiara, and they slowly but surely fall in love.
Again, I absolutely loved this book, I loved the Spanish they spoke, and since I speak Spanish it just made it that much hotter :3 Anyways, I really liked this book, it was very similar to Perfect Chemistry, except that Kiara wasn't uber rich... More normal, and that her parents approved of Carlos. The romance was steamy-er... If possible and I just loved it ;3 Story wise it was great, it was still very interesting with whole new twists and turns. Kiara was a more head strong girl, and was perfect for Carlos. The epilogue was absolutely PERFECT!!! It made me laugh at the irony, and I just love how Ms. Elkeles wrote about their life afterwards...

Perfect Chemistry By: Simone Elkeles

I FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK!!! There are no other words to describe how much I loved the book. :) The book is about a Mexican boy named Alejandro "Alex" Fuentes... Shexy :3 Anyways... He is sort of the classic Mexican boy, he is in a gang, is going to drop out of high school, lives on the wrong side of town, would do anything for his family. and all that stuff. He then makes a bet with his friends that he is going to get the rich "white" girl to sleep with him. This rich white girl is Brittany Greene. She has a "perfect life." Perfect grades, perfect boyfriend, rich, head cheerleader. Everything. But, in reality she has a hard home life. Her sister is mentally challenged and needs help. Her parents are always working, or when her mom is there all she does is criticize Brittany. In this bet, they start to fall for each other. Slowly but surely. Alex shows Brittany what he is like, his hopes and dreams. And Brittany opens up to Alex, and they fall in love.
I loved this book so much. I absolutely devoured it :) it was fast paced and detailed sort of, at times, lacked details. I sort of had to guess what the characters looked like. Also I loved that the characters were human and imperfect. I love imperfect characters, and this just made the story much more realistic. Another thing... I loved that is was in both their point of views, it told both sides of the stories and made it that much better.
"Mamacita I have already lost control..."
Alex just made me melt with happiness :3

What I found sort of annoying was how fast they moved. The book starts at the beginning of their senior year in August, and then the main event happens in October 31st. Just one month of getting to know each other and falling in love, it was very fast, but I still absolutely loved it. Also the epilogue almost killed me!! From happiness!! It was just so sweet and a perfect ending, reveling more of their future together. : )

(From Goodreads)
Well I really loved this one, it really continued the series perfectly. I really liked Sabine in this one because she finally started accepting her psychic powers, which she should have done EARLIER !!  GAH !! Well anyways.... I really liked this one, the sense of mystery was still there, if not more because Sabine has to find the cure for her grandmother to get better. But Dominic is here to help :3 the love triangle has started!! I hope Sabine goes for him, he is SO much better than Josh.... Meh
Well I absolutely can not wait for the next book, I need to go locate one...

The Vincent Boys (The Vincent Boys Book one) By: Abbi Glines

OH MY FLIPPING GORSH!!! There are no other words to describe how amazing this book was :)
Now that I'm calm...
So this book is about Ashton (Ash) Grey. She has the perfect life: perfect boyfriend, Sawyer Vincent star quarterback, prefect grades, pastures daughter... But she's not happy, because there is a certain bad boy catching her eye, since they were five. Beau Vincent. The towns known bad boy, reckless, cousin to Sawyer, off limits. But Ash can't help but want him. And the chance comes when Sawyer leaves for summer vacation leaving Ash all alone. She wants to rekindle her friendship with Beau but things get steamy and they fall for each other. Summer goes on and Ash and Beau are spending it together free from the reality of the situation. Sawyer comes back early from his trip and weeks into the school year finds out about Ash and Beau's secret relationship.

The characters:
  • Ash: she is the perfect girl, every guy wants her, every girl wants to be her. Ash is supposed to be this great girl and wants to be worthy of Sawyer, but she has a dark side. She wants to be rebellious, she wants to herself. At times I loved her, at others, she was a bit annoying because she never fought back when she was being bullied. All in all I loved her character, especially when she was herself.
  • Sawyer: he is the perfect guy, star quarterback, caring, awesome. We didn't really get to know him a lot in this book because he was off in his vacation. But what we did see of him (near the end) was sort of jerk-ish. Sort of force full of his feelings, pushing them on Ash.
  • Beau: oh freaking lord, Beau is just perfect. Ish. Beau has a troubled past, his dad died when he was young, his mom never really took care of him. So he is labeled as the towns bad boy, trailer trash. But he is not all that he seems, underneath all that angst, trouble, and charm. He is a sweet heart. And loveable... Just perfect.
Oh goodness this book was great, started it today and finished it today, it was just amazing. Could not put the book down. It was so interesting and sad, but it was also aggravating because Ash and Beau were cheating.... This book has different point of view from Ash and Beau, and I absolutely loved it. It gave you a more in depth view of what the characters were thinking.
"Step out of my life. Like Hell."
That just made my heart melt... It had some PRETTY steamy kisses that made me blush. It might be a new adult book... But I don't know. Anyways definitely recommended to older teens that can handle REALLY steamy kisses.
