A Court of Frost and Starlight: Sarah J. Maas

The Winter Solstice. In a week. I was still new enough to being High Lady that I had no idea what my formal role was to be. If we'd have a High Priestess do some odious ceremony, as lanthe had done the year before. A year. Gods, nearly a year since Rhys had called in his bargain, desperate to get me away from the poison of the Spring Court to save me from my despair. Had he been only a minute later, the Mother knew what would have happened. Where I'd now be. Snow swirled and eddied in the garden, catching in the brown fibers of the burlap covering the shrubs My mate who had worked so hard and so selflessly, all without hope that I would ever be with him We had both fought for that love, bled for it. Rhys had died for it.

So I finished at midnight, and I absolutely loved it. And apparently there has been some backlash about this book not being amazing, or the characters being out of character... And well.... I personally don't see it. I personally loved the book so flipping much....
SPOILERS.... SPOILERS AHEAD.... YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alright! So this book was perfect for me. It was exactly what I needed. It was the perfect bridge for the spinoffs. This to me was the actual goodbye to Feyre and Rhys's story. This was their actual happily ever after. And honestly I could not get enough actually I can, because I don't need anymore of Feyre and Rhys unless they are in the background or side characters *cough*
Anyway, this book was mostly fluff, with the occasional bit of angst. We finally got to see things from not just Feyre, but also RHYSAND, CASSIAN AND MOR!!! I am shooketh theres also the one time we get Nesta's point of view.... And like whatever... I really didn't care for it because I hate Nesta with all my heart
Anyway... Feyre is struggling to do everything she can to help the people of Velaris (Defender of the Rainbow and the desk), she's slowly starting to wear red RED I'M TELLING YOU!!!  *cries*
She's struggling to paint, and to bone her beloved husband ;)
Honestly my favorite part of this book was the chance of seeing Rhys be a normal person (fae...). His interactions with Cassian and Azriel, his nicknames:
LITTLE RHYSIE!!!! I REPEAT CASSIAN CALLS HIM LITTLE RHYSIE!!! *screams into the abyss* Honestly that is my new favorite thing Cassian calling Rhys LITTLE RHYSIE.
I loved seeing Cassian and Feyre get drunk together and "decorating" the house. I loved how they all teased each other. I LOVED seeing Az laugh, full on laughing. I loved that the three boys have annual snowball fights and Az has won 199 games ONE HUNDRED NINTEY NINE FIGHTS PEOPLE. How do they keep score you ask? Whoever isn't frost bitten wins. Guys I am living for this.
Amren being a legit angry puff ball, Amren telling all her friends that she struggles with pooping and peeing, like I was laughing so hard I cried. (BLOOD TASTES BETTER)
Amren marinating in the smell of her sex, that's just gross... but so Amren.
Az, my sweet sweet boy, how he makes everyone wait for Elain. MY SHIP MIGHT BE FLOATING. THE TENSION BETWEEN AZ AND ELAIN IS GOING TO BE THE END OF ME *dies*
MOR GIVING THE WORST GIFTS IN THE HISTORY OF THE EARTH GAVE ME LIFE.
The information we get of Cassian still wanting to be apart of the Illyrians, even though they honestly don't like him was incredible. The information that Azriel likes to forget that he is an Illyrian was amazing too. I loved their difference. I loved that Rhys will bring Az to the camps to remind him that he is an Illyrian.
Now onto Nesta, looks like Nesta has been living in a dump... And sleeping around... Cool, not a good way to cope with everything that has happened but whatever. This book honestly solidified my hate for Nesta. The little sneak peak to the next book honestly has me hooked. I want to see the dynamic between Nesta and Cassian. I actually want to see them fight, and Cassian basically beat Nesta into shape.
The ending of this book, was just so stinking sweet. After the chapter full of wild sex even though it was nice.... I would have been fine without that explicit show of sex it ends with her saying she wants kids *cries because soon we'll have baby Rhysies* Feyre opens an art gallery therapy thing.. For children and I cried.
Then Rhys gave her a house... Well manor, by the lake and I am shooketh. This was so stinking cute I am just filled with happiness.
OH!! One last thing, the interaction of Rhys and Tamlin was actually heart breaking. I didn't think it would actually make me sad to see Tamlin like this. To see this man so broken, it honestly changed a few things in my head. He asked for forgiveness. And I am actually okay with seeing a SLOW redemption arc for him....
Mrs. Maas please give me more of the Az and Elain ship, I know they're going to end up together I can feel it in my shipping heart.
Anyway
Until next time reader <3
Y'all when I got this book in the mail, first I squealed, then danced around the house. Then sat down and started reading. And guys this book is just so good. So here we go:
So this book starts 2 years after the first book, so that was a little confusing but I managed. The writing is still amazing and I am finally understanding the "present" parts. This book honestly like reading two different stories since they happen at completely different parts of her life. And honestly it works so well.
So in this book there was some romance. And I have been waiting for this!
Okay so the way the romance progressed with Kance and Tea was just super sweet.  It was slow and then all at once (did I just quote another book? Yes I did)
I just have a lot of feelings for this book, and I honestly don't know how to actually put it done on paper. I loved that this takes place a few years after the first one. I loved that Tea is beating up the dead king trying to find her teachers heart. I love how much Tea cares for others. I like that she still crushes on the prince.
And I just, I love it.
I love the back and forth between the past and present
And this ending seriously is killing me
Like Tea's heart has black flecks in it!!
IT HAS BLACK FLECKS IN IT
I can't wait to see more of her "downfall" I want to know why the elders tried to take her heart. Because even though we found the teachers heart..... We never learned WHY/WHO STOLE HER HEART.
GUYS I'M DYING
I NEED TO KNOW WHY IT WAS STOLEN.
(I know it was because of her powers.... but WHY????)
Anyway honestly, read this book. It's amazing and so sweet too
Until next time readers <3
